Aluminum is a popular material in many industries due to its good workability and ability to be bent and formed into a variety of shapes. However, when high demands are placed on the material in terms of load-bearing capacity or weight-bearing capacity, the resulting beams and profiles can become quite massive and difficult to bend.<\/p>\n

This is the case with modern cable car and gondola construction, where cabins are often designed with curved edges and a lot of glass surfaces. The lightweight aluminum construction of these cabins often requires the corner columns to be bent in multiple dimensions, while maintaining a cambered surface. Bending aluminum to meet these high requirements is a challenging task.<\/p>\n
